Rolling Hill Park in Gladwyne is a great spot to take your pooch for a hike. It’s dog friendly, and even has a fenced-in dog park within the park. In fact, Philadelphia magazine named the park the Best Suburban Dog Park in 2014. There’s even an unfenced, “off leash” dog-walking section of the trail, but it is for permit holders only. This park is part of the expansive Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area, which showcases all of the natural and cultural hotspots surrounding the Schuylkill River. Lower Merion Conservancy oversees Rolling Hill Park and has its headquarters in a historic cottage on the land.
