This trail yields some wonderful views! As posted, you reach the highest point on the trail fairly quickly, between .5 to .75 miles in. After that, there is another mile of up and down. I hiked in the early morning and was rewarded with shade at some spots on the trail; when the sun was positioned low enough, behind the peak. If you're a photographer, there's opportunities to capture not just the great views, but also desert plants and wildlife. I saw huge saguaros, rabbits, lizards, and a hummingbird that stopped for a snack not two feet away from where I stood. A rewarding hike for all interests!
Enjoyed the hike. Was great to see such diversity on the trail. Beautiful views and a good workout.
this trail is a very good trail. well maintained. be advised to go early in the morning because it gets crowded and there's no shade. if you need a good work out look no further.
