This hike begins as a straightforward stroll past grassy meadows and spring wildflowers, then gets steep as it climbs to Lizard Rock and panoramic views of the Conejo Valley and the Santa Susana Mountains. It is used by hikers, mountain bikers, joggers, dog walkers, and the occasional equestrian. There isn’t a stitch of shade on this hike, so plan it for early or late in the day, and be sure to bring hats and sunscreen. It can get scorching hot in summer, and the park tends to close after heavy storms.
