This out-and-back follows a moderate singletrack path to stunning views of a bowl-shaped gorge formed by the collision of three earthquake faults millions of years ago. Green and snowcapped in winter, the San Gabriel Mountains add a dramatic border to the park’s stark white cliffs and tortured terrain. The 1.2-mile loop trail near the nature center is a gentler introduction to the area and great for small children and those in a hurry.
