An amazing amount of variety in a relatively short hike—the scenery changes every mile or so. It’s almost a crime that this exceedingly beautiful 1,250-acre section of Gunpowder Falls State Park is so lightly used—but what a treat that is for hikers seeking solitude! The bulk of traffic in the Sweet Air section comes from equestrians.

Every time I do this trail I get frustrated following the trail often turning back or pressing on not knowing whether I'm lost... Primarily for the reasons stated in the reviews above, however, I have enjoyed the deep woods and river when I find them.

If you like horses, this is the trail for you since everybody but you, the hiker, will be riding them. If you like mountain biking, this is the place for you. This trail is not "lightly used" like this guide states(at least during the summer season). If you like hiking with horses, crowds of people, and walking through peoples back yards, this is ideal trail for you. So my point is: this trail is not for people on foot or for people who like a quiet, isolated hike(like the guide states). Pros: decent map at the trailhead(better than the guide by far). Cons: everything listed previously, muddy pot hole filled parking lot, waving high to people in their back yards, and horse manure.

Trails are poorly marked. Part of the trail is through a corn field. Be prepared to get your feet wet!
