This route gets its name from the Richland Balsam Overlook, the highest point on the Parkway at 6,053 ft., where the views are spectacular. Along the way there, visit the Devil’s Courthouse, a mountain crag from which you can see into Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway is famous for its long, sweeping curves. For twisties, US 276 climbs Mt. Pisgah in a four-mile series of turns that will put a big, fat grin on the face of the most seasoned sportbiker.
So, no matter what kind of rider you are, or what kind of bike you have, this ride is for you. Enjoy! Points of interest: The town of Waynesville (Main Street, Mast General Store), The Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground, the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks, tunnels and short hikes, Devil’s Courthouse, Richland Balsam Overlook (elev. 6,053 ft.—the highest on the Parkway).
