The Massabesic Experimental Forest is owned and operated by the USDA Forest Service. It consists of 3600 acres in both Alfred and Lyman (York County). The one I recommend for walking dogs off-leash, is the Northern Unit near Lyman. This plot is over 1 mile wide and 3+ miles long. A nice gravel road runs through the middle of the property, and ends at Roberts Pond.
