We found Denali to be as wild and beautiful as portrayed by the other reviews we read and by the Park Service. Was it as physically demanding as they say? Yes - the soft tundra and bush-wacking really do slow your pace to 1-2 mph in the backcountry. While you can travel the glacial riverbeds at a much faster pace, the river crossings are challenging and finding the right places to cross takes time. Was it worth it? You bet - absolutely spectacular wilderness! When planning your hike(s), be conservative on the mileage and don't overestimate your abilities.
