Totally worth the trip! The park is beautiful and the sights are so humbling. The park rangers were really nice and the visitor centers were informative. Be sure to check out the rock shops. They have dinosaur bones that are really cool. Be sure to check out all of the petropglyphs
We spent five hours in the park. Worth seeing the introductory film at the vistor's center. Choose one of the trails, either Crystal or Long Log Trail (go to the Agate House if you do this one) for remarkable petrified logs. We never expected to see such a quantity of petrified logs. Colours are amazing. Take time for the Blue Mesa trail in the badlands. The ruins of the Puerco Pueblo village are interesting and you get to see amazing petroglyphs. By the time we reached the painted desert, we did not have time for hiking the trail but the visibility was incredible...the fierce wind too.
