Arlington County is on the west bank of the Potomac River, just across from the nation’s capital, where it enjoys all the advantages of its close proximity to the center of government and international business.
Arlington’s many attractions draw millions of visitors from all over the world. Arlington National Cemetery, with its Eternal Flame at the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy, is the most visited of these attractions, followed by Arlington House Robert E. Lee Memorial and the Pentagon.
Just across the river in Washington, in addition to the Kennedy Center, is the Lincoln Memorial, the Smithsonian Institution, the White House, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Supreme Court, and many other famous points of interest.
