Few things are as romantic as a quiet country inn. But a majestic bike ride for two through the beautiful West Virginia Mountains comes pretty close. This ride has put the two together for what has proven to be a relaxing and athletic two-day getaway. The ride begins at the quaint, five-room colonial Warfield House Bed & Breakfast (888) 636-4555 in the town of Elkins. Because of its central location near other outdoor activities, the ride can stand alone as part of a gentle, two-day escape or as the start of a longer outdoor adventure. Great mountain views, quiet country roads, the Tygart River, antique shops and a Civil War museum await you on your ride to Huttonsville and the Queen Anne Victorian-style Hutton House Bed and Breakfast (304) 335-6701. Terrain: this ride is moderately hilly and will test the stamina of those who don't ride often. On the other hand, the ride is largely straight along lightly traveled roads with few technical skills required and plenty of places to rest.
