Pay close attention to your GPS and the map! It is easy to take a wrong turn and there are locked gates to the north that you can't get through if you don't make it to your destination.
The instructions from the Charles Wells book weren't easy to follow. There are a ton of roads out there and his descriptions of some of the landmarks weren't very good. We weren't sure we ever made it to Copperopolis until we got back home and entered our GPS track into the computer and plotted the course.
Our GPS coords and the coords from the book were off. When we were dead on one of the coordinates we could see the grave site where we were suppose to be about 1/4 mile away. That's quite a big error for a GPS.
The trail was definately on the easy side of moderate. Technically this wasn't a difficult trail at all.
I would love to spend a few days back there to explore more of the many trails that criss cross the Wickenburg Mountains.
