This wilderness waterfall hike begins at historic Rock Creek Recreation Area. It leaves the Civilian Conservation Corps–built enclave and enters Unaka Mountain Wilderness and a bluff-lined, tree-filled mountain gorge. Several creek crossings lead you to the first act, the 30-foot Lower Rock Creek Falls. End at the main event, a semicircular stone cliff over which 50-foot Rock Creek Falls dashes.
