This is a short, fun, and family-friendly hike to a high and attractive cataract in the Cherokee National Forest. First, walk a wide track along Sill Branch, noisily dropping through a wooded vale. A quick rock-hop over South Sill Branch leads you to Sill Branch Falls, discharging 50 feet over a bare sheer cliff. The South Sill Branch Trail is well maintained by the Cherokee National Forest and is a “destination trail,” thus built for frequent use, even though it is a bit off the beaten path. After walking around large vehicle barrier boulders, you will ascend an old jeep road, as Sill Branch dances over boulders in a tulip tree– and rhododendron-dominated landscape.

A very easy hike for a beautiful waterfall. Only takes about 20-30 min for the hike. we did two this day and enjoyed taking our time. only one water crossing on this trail and there was still some snow. We just rolled up our pant legs and took off our socks and shoes and went across
