This waterfall hike starts in the Cosby area of the Smokies. It mixes in pioneer history before joining a steep slope to reach precipitous 45-foot Hen Wallow Falls, a strip of white flowing and widening over a stone façade, crashing into a pile of rock, creating a fine, less-visited Smokies destination. Hen Wallow Falls is neither the most spectacular nor the most popular falls in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. But the historic trail and the long, tall cataract it leads to are both worth the hike.
