High and wild are two words that come to mind when recalling Falls Branch Falls. The setting is dramatic on the north slope of Sassafras Ridge, where Falls Branch dives off a high cliff in a highland glen. And the walk to this cataract, set in the Citico Creek Wilderness, is not bad either. Start out following an old forest road, then drop into Falls Branch watershed, where a short, final uptick leads to this vivid waterfall.
