This beauty of a cataract is located on a TVA small wild area. Foster Falls swoons 60 feet off naked rock into a massive catch pool from which rise sheer walls. Trails allow you to view the waterfall from numerous vantages. Little Gizzard Creek is the mother stream of Foster Falls. The name stuck but the story behind the moniker Foster Falls has been lost to time. The hike en route to your first overlook of Foster Falls is easy, walking the rim of Fiery Gizzard Gulf. Next, view the falls from their base and check out the gigantic plunge pool. You have to go below the rim of Little Gizzard Creek gulf, into irregular yet geologically intriguing terrain. You will pass along the base of sheer clifflines, through boulder jumbles and under rockhouses.
