Duskin Creek descends off the Cumberland Plateau—and makes a few splashes along the way. The Cumberland Trail is your conduit for linking three waterfalls in the “gorge-ous” valley that has not only aquatic allure but land-based beauty in the form of forests and rock bluffs. Highlights include 18-foot White Pine Cascades—a fan shaped fall, 10-foot Deep Pool Cascades, and finally 8-foot Hemlock Falls. This hike travels a remote section of the Cumberland Trail. Duskin Creek—a tributary of the Piney River—is one ultra-scenic valley in addition to the waterfalls. The heavily wooded stream has cut a valley with countless geological features, from boulder gardens to grooved cliffs to remarkable rockhouses. The trail sometimes is along the creek and other times well above the water, maneuvering through the challenging terrain.
