Best Hikes Near Nashville

This little used Trail winds through a variety of woodland environments near Percy Priest Lake. There are two connected loops which seem to total more than 1.3 m. The shorter loop is very narrow and rocky and difficult to follow as it is very overgrown. Dogs are allowed but not in Cook Recreation Area where the Trailhead is. If you hike with your dog as I do, you can access the Trail off the main boat ramp rd across from the Old Campground. Two nice features are an ancient stone wall left over from pre Stones River Dam days, and two large sinkholes. There are a lot of Ticks in the Fall!
