In addition to some good birding opportunities along the wooded edges of a large meadow and some good portions of the trail bed generously carpeted in pine needles, the two ponds on either side of the beginning of this route are well known by local anglers for their bountiful bass. So bring your binoculars and fishing pole to this lesser-known wildlife preserve.
