While this trail may not be surrounded by stately pine groves or possess historic intrigue, it’s a lesser-traveled route that is more about getting away from it all withfar fewer human encounters than the more publicized routes nearby. Why not make it a day and visit the DeCordova Museum at the trailhead? Outside in their thirtyfive-acre outdoor sculpture park, you’ll pass some spectacular life-size pieces. Inside, you’ll be treated to a vast collection of contemporary works by local artists. Once you finally do get itchy feet, miles of undisturbed woods await circling Sandy Pond.
