Despite its steepness, the Spencer Butte Trail is included for two reasons: First, it is quite short; and second, it is by far the most spectacular trail that the city of Eugene has to offer. For this reason, it is Eugene’s most popular and beloved trail, and is not to be missed.
From the beautiful trailhead at Spencer Butte Park, there are two routes to the summit. Both are quite steep, but neither is very long. (You can also reach the summit from a connecting link off the Ridgeline Trail.)
