We hiked the northern portion of the Long Path from the State Line Lookout to the intersection with the Shore Trail. Unfortunately the portion of the Shore Trail containing the stone steps was closed due to the a landslide, however, the rest of the trail was great. The hike itself is relatively easy. The views are some of the best in the state, and standing atop the 400+ foot cliffs of the Palisades is a humbling experience. My only negative remarks for this trail is that it was rather crowded (and we were there on a weekday), and there is quite a bit of litter nearest the trailheads.
