Best Easy Day Hikes: Charlotte

The best spot I know of to see animals in Charlotte is the pond east of the fishing pond off Monroe Road. I frequently see turtles sunning and a great blue heron on an old beaver lodge. Sometimes a turtle will be on a trail, too. Lots of nice people are on the trail, as well. The greenway is along a sewer line, and the creek isn't much to see. A trail more interesting than the greenway is north of the fishing pond and east of the greenway. The park is well maintained, except for the debris that accumulates in the creek.
