This drive follows the highway from Black River Falls to Hartman Creek State Park near Waupaca. Central Wisconsin’s cranberry country is a wide, sandy wetland that was once the bed of a huge Ice Age lake called Glacial Lake Wisconsin. The route starts in the hills at Black River Falls, crosses the flat cranberry bogs, and then climbs up a line of hills left by the glacier twelve thousand years ago.
