by Joe Bensen revised and updated by Christy Karras (Falcon Guides)
A 32-mile alpine canyon drive, with an attractive branch drive to Cascade Springs and Timpanogos Cave. This drive combines the Provo Canyon Scenic Byway with two extremely beautiful scenic backways: the Alpine Scenic Loop and the Cascade Springs Scenic Backway. Taken together, these three short drives offer an extended look at the lovely alpine landscape and forests blanketing the foot of rugged Mount Timpanogos.
Special attractions: Bridal Veil Falls, Heber Creeper Railroad, Sundance Resort, spectacular views of Mount Timpanogos, Timpanogos Cave National Monument, Cascade Springs, and autumn colors on the Alpine Loop Scenic Backway. Nearby attractions: Camp Floyd and Pony Express Trail, Utah Lake and Provo attractions, Park City and Deer Valley resorts, and Mt. Nebo and Mirror Lake scenic drives. This eTrail is a complete description of a scenic drive with a route map and information on the best travel seasons, interesting sites, recreation opportunities, camping locations, and much more.
