A 33-mile drive that begins at Bonne Terre and travels through the historic mining region to the scenic granite shut-ins of Millstream Gardens Conservation Area 9 miles west of Fredericktown.
This drive begins in the Ozark border’s rolling, wooded hills and their broad, open valleys and clear streams. This area is part of the largest lead-producing region in the world. The hills become more pronounced and rugged as you head south.
Special attractions: Bonne Terre Mine, Mineral Mines State Historic Site, Silver Mines Recreation Area, and Millstream Gardens Conservation Area; scenic views, hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, off-road vehicle (ORV) trails, and geology.
