This drive is great. We took the Klondike Highway on our way to Alaska and the Top of the World Highway. Make sure you stop and see the sights in Whitehorse, a very beautiful city. There is an incredible gorge right outside of town, I think it is called Miles Canyon. From Whitehorse the scenery just keeps increasing in beauty. More majestic mountains appear and wildlife becomes more abundant. We saw many caribou and a moose or two. Take a short stop at Stone Mountain. It is a great short hike and what an incredible view from the top. There are quite a few creeks along the road where you can stop and take a peek for some gold. We found quite a few rocks with small flakes. Gas stations are not a frequent sight. I recommend carrying some extra gas on your vehicle if possible. What view stations often have pay showers if camping along the way. Dawson is a small, bustling mining town. It can be quite the tourist trap, but can be fun. This route is a must if driving to Alaska. Happy Roadtripping! :)
