Great hike once you reach the trail head, approx 1/2 mile from parking area, end of Greenriver rd. , follow Santa Ana River on bike trail, turn left under 91frwy overpass and you’ve reached start of the trail ...follow trail then follow in the dry riverbed all the way to the end of the boxed canyon. Very peaceful and not many hikers , you may run into 1-2 people.Easy hike w/very slight incline - lots of diff shrubs, bushes trees & rocks. Beautiful in spring w/all the indigenous flowers.
A small, hidden, box canyon waterfall right off the side of the 91 freeeway at the “Offramp to Nowhere” in Coal Canyon. (Date hiked: April 2, 2011 and April 26, 2009.) Great hike. Waterfall was in season. Trail was quite a ways from parking area. Overall a good, quick hike.
