An excellent spring trophy bass lake for electric motors only. Hammertown Lake is the water supply reservoir for the town of Jackson, also known as Jackson City Reservoir. The lake covers 190 acres and is deep, averaging 20 to 40 feet with some 50- to 60-foot-deep water at the dam. Hammertown is a clear lake with as much as 6 feet of visibility. A stunning lake, it is almost completely surrounded by forest and lies almost entirely within the boundaries of the Jackson City Park, except for the dam area, which is controlled by the Jackson City Water Company. Key species: Largemouth bass, channel catfish, saugeye, bluegill, redear sunfish, trout.
