Owned and managed by the Mid-Coast Audubon Society, this 30-acre parcel is open to the public year-round. Except for the trails and a few birdhouses placed on trees here and there, the site has little or no evidence of human intervention. Birds likely to be found here include woodland songbirds; warblers in the upland section; and waterfowl and shorebirds, including ducks and geese, on the river and marsh. Bald Eagle and Osprey are always a possibility, especially around the marsh and river. In late summer look for Common Snipe; Virginia Rail are possible in the short grass of the marsh. Canada Goose are always a possibility. Many geese now remain in Maine year-round rather than migrating.
