The Plymouth Cruise is a tour of Plymouth and the scrub-pine and cranberry-bog country surrounding it. You’ll go past or near many of the town’s historic landmarks. Outside of town you’ll go through the Myles Standish State Forest, a large, unspoiled area of pines and ponds. The cranberry-growing area is a uniquely beautiful part of the state to explore by bicycle, especially during the harvest season in October when the berries turn the bogs into a crimson carpet. Surrounded by pines and sandy banks, with little wooden sheds next to them, the bogs have a trim, rustic appeal. Narrow roads guide the bicyclist from bog to bog past cedar-shingled homes.
