A flat tour of some great North Shore suburbs, this ride will take you through the centers of Topsfield, Ipswich, Georgetown, and Boxford. Each town is worth visiting in its own right; touring them together makes for an even more enjoyable journey. You’ll follow the Ipswich River to the sea before heading through the back country roads of Rowley on your way to Georgetown and the heavily wooded winding roads of Boxford. This is a great route for the tourist, with frequent stops available for refreshments and many historic sites to ponder. This is also a great route for more serious training on fast, flat roads. Which is more fun, riding along the coast enjoying expansive ocean views or riding on winding heavily wooded back country roads? Well, on the North Shore Cruise, you’ll get both! The route can be approached in different ways for a variety of cycling experiences. As a tour, you’ll pass through four quaint New England town centers where you can score refreshments, hang out on expansive common areas, and see historic buildings and monuments. If you’re looking for a good work-out, this route has many long stretches along flat roads where you can really put in a measured effort.
