Like Central Park in New York, Boston Common, and Boston Public Garden, Tower Grove Park is a National Historic Landmark. With its faux ruins, grand gates, whimsical pavilions, statuary, and ponds, it is considered the best-preserved walking park in the nation and one of the few surviving Victorian parks in the world. This walk covers two miles of trails on the park’s eastern side, which is the most ornamental. The western side contains playing fields, a wild bird garden, and some stone stables, which are the park’s oldest buildings. You may want to explore this area as well. In this consummate walking park, pedestrians have the right of way, but watch for traffic when you cross the streets. Special attractions: One of the world’s few remaining Victorian parks, intriguing architectural details, fanciful gazebos, fountain and ponds, lush plantings.

This park is very pretty and well maintained. I have taken some classes with employees of this park and they do a very good job keeping the park at it's best. I played tennis in high school and we practiced at the tennis courts in tower grove park and I know this park quite well.
