An enjoyable ride through woods, meadows, wetlands, and streams in a wild and remote national wildlife refuge. Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge comprises nearly 25,000 acres of woods, wetlands, meadows, and streams and is home to an array of mammals including moose, deer, bear, and beaver. It is the easternmost refuge in the Atlantic flyway, a migration route that follows the east coast of North America. More than 125 species of birds come here to breed, including the elusive and endearing American woodcock, which the refuge is specially managed to support. With more than 50 miles of dirt roads and trails, biking is an excellent way to explore Moosehorn and observe its fascinating ecosystem and abundant wildlife.
