Superb kayaking in an island-studded bay with a visit to an Audubon sanctuary. Muscongus Bay is one of my favorite places to paddle. Beautiful, accessible islands, abundant wildlife, and charming harbors combine to make it a perfect destination for day trips or extended outings. This trip introduces the western side of the bay with an easy paddle up Muscongus Sound, a visit to an Audubon sanctuary, a brief side trip to the remains of a 1902 schooner, and a lunch stop at popular Crow Island.
