An outstanding ridge hike with excellent views to the southern Lakes Region and beyond. Pleasant Mountain is the highest peak in Southern Maine, rising dramatically over Moose Pond and the surrounding countryside to 2,006 vertical feet and stretching nearly 4.0 miles north to south. The long, open summit affords outstanding ridge hiking and excellent views. In season, blueberries thrive along the ridge, providing a sweet reward for the moderate effort required to climb the mountain.

If you're looking for a great hike near Fryburg, this is it. The views over Maine on one side and the White Mountains to the other are beautiful. If you're in good shape the hike is moderate. We did this hike in September when the leaves began to change their colours, it was fantastic.

Great hike with kids - just enough of a challenge for them to make it feel like a mountain! And beautiful views at the top.
