A walkers’ wooden bridge across sand dunes to the ocean beach and back along the Ogunquit River tidal flats. Walking Ogunquit Beach is like walking into an abstract painting with long horizon lines. Many painters, in fact, live here. Behind you, to the east, is Moody Point in Wells, and before you is a “boar’s head,” a term early settlers gave to cliff outcrops. This boar’s head is completely covered now with new development. But down on the beach, only the sound of surf greets you, and beachgoers’ colorful kites sail the currents with the seagulls. Special Features: dunes with American beach grass, broad Atlantic shore views, and sandpipers, egrets, and other shorebirds.
