An upland walk through hilly fields and woods overlooking striking views of Grand Monadnock and the Connecticut River Valley. High and hilly, Warner Forest is a remote woodland with two large, slanting meadows.
This indeed is good deer country. Plenty of deep, cloven hoof marks are visible in the soft earth. If you do see tracks, a quiet walk may reward you with a sighting as you crest the hilltop. A local farmer mows these three meadows for hay. The nearby protective woods provide shelter for deer feeding on the grass in these isolated meadows.
