Great Brook Farm has more than ten miles of trails. The most remote paths lie at the southern end of the property near Tophet Swamp. My favorite hike, however, is a shorter ramble (about an hour to an hour and a half) around Meadow Pond. The trail is called Pine Point Loop, so named for its passage beneath towering white pines. The trail is quite wide and flat, making it an excellent place for cross-country skiing. Picnic tables are scattered about the fields and woods, andone table looks like an especially good spot as it rests on a point of land jutting toward the water. The meadows, ponds, forests, and swamps of Great Brook Farm support a wide variety of wildlife for nature study.
