It’s a far stretch to call this dispersed camping. Actually there are two open muddy areas where you could launch a small boat. These are the two spots that are suitable for camping. A primitive fire ring sits beside the lake at each of these sites, and that is it—no drinking water, no picnic table, no vault toilet. Keep this in mind as you are packing your gear. The sunset views are amazing, but be sure to bring bug repellent along. Although it’s pretty sizable, Catfish Lake is shallow throughout and is therefore only suitable for canoes, kayaks, and flat-bottom boats.
