If you look at a map, it appears as though Cedar Point Campground should offer waterfront camping. Well, the map is deceiving. Cedar Point itself is on the water, but unfortunately the campground is nowhere near the water. It’s fairly wooded, and the sites are spaced out a bit, but there is no underbrush, so you don’t have a ton of privacy. What the campground lacks, the recreation area makes up for. It has a picnic ground, hiking trails, paddle trails, and a boat launch. Wildlife is plentiful, and you are sure to enjoy the area whether you explore it by land or by water. I recommend bringing bug repellent and binoculars to get the most out of your visit. Birders flock to the area to view a wide variety of species.
