It appears as though a brush fire ran through the campground, removing all the underbrush and leaving the base of the trees charred. As a result, the campsites are not very shaded, or private. But what the campground lacks in privacy, it makes up for with activities.
With only 224 acres, this small state park packs a punch. If you prefer to stay on dry land, there is a large picnic area with grills built in, a volleyball court, and 6 miles of hiking trails. If you prefer the water, there’s a great swimming area with a lovely sand beach, a fishing pier, and a boat launch.
