Just south of the North Carolina–Virginia border lies Henderson Point, another well-designed campground within the Kerr Lake Recreation Area. Once again they’ve taken advantage of the lay of the land and given us several waterfront campsites. Along with lakeside camping, Henderson Point offers a swim beach, a playground, several picnic shelters, a fishing pier, and some very busy boat ramps. The open waters around Henderson Point make this a popular destination for the sailing community and anglers alike. The group campsite at Henderson Point is not as isolated as some of the others, but it’s nice that it’s just a short walk to the water. Reservations are required for group camping.
