With nearly 600 campsites, Poplar Point is by far the largest campground in the Jordan Lake Recreation Area. You would think that squeezing this many campsites into one area would make them crowded, but that isn’t the case. Several loops make up the campground, and the layout is quite nice. There’s a boat ramp and a swim beach that are only available for campers to use. Fishing is allowed anywhere on Jordan Lake, but you must obtain a North Carolina state fishing license prior to casting your line. A hiking trail leads from loop to loop, taking you from one end of the park to the other.
