Dan Nicholas Park has more activities than any other campground, or park, in this book. Things you wouldn’t even fathom, like a carousel, a petting zoo, and train rides, can be found at Dan Nicholas. Of course the park has the typical playgrounds and picnic areas, but there’s an endless list of other things to do and see here as well—from gem mining to horseshoes, or try your hand at putt-putt golf. The campground sits on the northern end of Lake Murtis and has an interesting layout. There are loops within loops, and some of the sites back up to the lake, with a bit of forest in between the sites and the lake. The campground is wooded but not super private.
