estled away in the mountains of the Pisgah National Forest, White Pines Group Camp offers lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The group camping areas are walk-in only, so you must cart your gear about 0.25 mile from the gated entrance to the camping area. Once you are settled in, you’ll see that the camping areas sit right beside Avery Creek. You don’t even have to leave the property to dip your toes into the chilly mountain water or try your hand at a bit of fly fishing. You can obtain your fishing license just outside the pillared entrance to the forest at the Davidson River Outfitters.
