Resting on the outskirts of the Pisgah National Forest, you would think the Kuykendall Group Camp would be easy to reach. Geographically, yes, but be aware that you must drive across Kuykendall Creek to reach the camping area. High-clearance vehicles are recommended, especially during spring and summer, when it tends to rain a lot. Once you get settled in, it’s easy to let go of the stress and simply lose yourself in the refreshing sounds of the creek as it makes its way down the mountainside. Bring your fishing pole and cast a line as you unwind, or head a bit deeper into the forest to explore hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding.
