You’ll enjoy beautiful mountain lake views as you make your way to Horse Cove Campground. Once you arrive you’ll find well-spaced sites that sit along the edge of a clear-running creek. The sounds of the creek and the privacy these campsites have to offer make this one of my favorite campgrounds, despite the fact that there are no shower facilities. While you’re here, be sure to take some time to explore the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. It is home to more than one hundred different species of trees, many of which are over 100 feet tall. The sight of these champion trees is simply awe inspiring!
