The rewarding drive to the trailhead takes you from open prairie to deep forests of fir and juniper in the Elkhorn Mountains. Crow Creek Trail is mostly level and leads you through forests and meadows to the foot of Crow Creek Falls that plummets for 40 feet over a steep rugged cliff. Wading is certainly possible, but the vigorous whirlpool may be too dangerous for swimming. Both backpackers and day-hikers will enjoy this satisfying trek.
